We had planned to hunker down at home this winter/spring, but when we heard about the Canada Photo Convention in Vancouver, we HAD to go. We heard some of our favourite photographers speak about what what drives them and excites them. But more importantly we got a chance to just hang out, relax, eat sushi, ride bikes, wake up to some seriously delicious lattes (thanks Andrew!!), and wander aimlessly in the much-needed sun. Here’s a few snapshots from the week:

We took a day trip to the island in an unsuccessful attempt to see a whale.

 

The look on Mike’s face here pretty accurately shows how freaking cold this boat ride was. It was freaking cold.

We almost took a nap on the ferry ride home, but then some amazing golden light forced us to take weird photos on the car deck. I think when you’re a photographer, you can never again nap during golden hour.

If there’s an aquarium nearby, we go. Every time.

I (Diane) could literally stare for hours.
