What a honour to take part in Alex + Chris’ beautiful wedding at the Saskatoon Farm in Southern Alberta. Located between Calgary and Okotoks, this working farm features incredible views, wonderful (and delicious) produce, is home to chickens, roosters, and a pot-bellied pig! The greenhouses were humid and fragrant as Chris waited to see Alex for the first time in her wedding dress. They held each other with tears on cheeks and shoulders, ready for the next step, together.
Family + friends shared laughs, libations, with dancing into the night, scored by the live band — and even featured a song played by Chris for his new wife. We later found the farm’s kitten, who also wanted to tag along for some photos :)
Thank you so much for having us be a part of your day <3
Rheanna + Martha flew in from Massacheutts and gathered their closest friends and family — as near as Edmonton, and as far as New York — for their intimate ceremony and reception at Tacansina Ranch in the MD of Bighorn, AB. The skies cleared just before the ceremony and the Rockies peeked through just beyond the rolling foothills. Everyone enjoyed spectacular tacos from Naaco and keg beer, and danced the night away to some incredible live music.
Congrats, you kooky kids <3
Some portraits! Along with shooting weddings, I (Mike) spend a lot of time shooting events like Market Collective. This time I decided to do something a little bit different, by doing portraits of the artists and all the folk who make Market Collective happen. What an amazing community of creatives we have here in Calgary. To all the artists, thanks for humouring me :)
Film used: Fuji Instax and Impossible Project.
